The Savior who Bridged the Gap

I love this song because it’s so true! God is so good! He is so generous! He is so kind! He is our rescuer! He BROKE the chasm that laid between us and God! He has broken every chain! He has set us FREE! While we were sinners and walking in darkness, He LOVED us a tremendously large amount that He sent a Savior to pay the debt for our sins. He has FREELY given us the gift of forgiveness and eternal life with Him. Jesus bridged the gap between us and God.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” 

Romans 8:1-4 “Therefore, there is now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has SET YOU FREE from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Jesus bore our sins on the cross. He bore our imperfectness and failures with His blood. With the power of our own flesh and blood, we could not set ourselves free from the powers of sin and death. Jesus paid the price so we could become righteous in God’s sight and live according to the Spirit.

Not only did Jesus provide forgiveness, He also provided open arms for His children to run into, that are always constant and unchanging. 

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”

He WELCOMES us into His open arms with our brokenness, tiredness, pain, hopelessness, and any struggle we may be facing. 

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

During my first few days here in Cambodia, I was worried about how people may treat us because we are foreigners. I was unsure of what Cambodians thought of Americans. It gave me anxiety that I could not change the fact that no matter what I did I would always stand out as an American. As the days have gone on, I have begun to feel less and less worried because every person we have crossed paths with has been so kind and friendly and welcoming. I’m a stranger here in Cambodia, but people have welcomed me with open arms as family. God has placed so many people in our paths that have been such a blessing and have made us feel loved, even though we are from different parts of the world, are from different cultures, and grew up speaking different languages. 

Just as many people here in Cambodia have welcomed and loved us just as we are, God also welcomes every person into a relationship with Him just as they are. There are no boundaries with God’s love! His love is not based on who you are or where you’re from or the struggles you may be facing or even what you’ve done.




God welcomes every person! NOTHING changes the love God has for you. Even when we did not love God, He ALWAYS loved us. God’s gift of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross was a gift for anyone who is willing to accept it! Do you know God? Have you heard of the hope He has given us? Have you heard of the one that provides rest and joy in the trials of this life? Have you heard of the one who is with you through both the good and bad moments of life? Have you heard of the one who broke our chains and provided us FREEDOM? If you know God, have you shared Him with those who do not know Him; with those living with no hope? Jesus welcomes you into His family and a relationship with Him. He desires for you to come running to Him! Our Savior laid down His life, so YOU could be lifted up to LIFE! We were never meant to live this life alone and thankfully we have a Savior who walks with us through it all!

Lord, I am Grateful

My team and I have been back in America for a few days now. We are all now beginning to adjust to being back in America and are reflecting on our time in Cambodia aka the Kingdom of Wonder. We are all awestruck on how quickly our trip went. As I think back on my time in Cambodia, one word comes to mind...Grateful. Most nights after we got back to the hotel from our busy day we would like to have a time of worship to refresh our souls. Hannah would play the ukulele and pick a few songs for us to sing. One particular night we sang the song Grateful by Elevation Worship. The chorus of the song says: "I give thanks, for all you have done And I will sing, of your mercy and Your love Your love is unfailing Lord, I am grateful I give thanks, for all you have done I won't forget, all the battles you have won Your love is unfailing Lord, I am grateful" For some reason, this song was exactly what I needed to hear that night and was a good reminder to me to be grateful no matt...

So What Are We Even Doing Here?

Good morning! (Or should I say good evening for everyone back in the US!) I’ve (Chad typing here) got a three part update for you this morning. This past weekend (Aug. 4th & 5th), Hannah, Connie, Stephanie, and I went to Siem Reap, the city where Angkor Wat and many other ancient temples are located, while Milah and Kayla stayed back and spent time adventuring in Phnom Penh with some of the staff here and a few of our readers.
