The Unknown

We leave in 3 days.

We don't really know quite what to expect. This is exciting, but also requires something from us, something that God calls us to do.

TRUST.

It is such a simple yet deep word. It is certainly easy to say but often harder to do, like a lot of things in life.

"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He's the one who will keep you on track."
Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG.

This verse holds so much truth. In GOD alone we need to trust, and rely on Him in confidence in ALL things. Trust requires walking by faith and not by sight, keeping our eyes fixed on the Ultimate Supplier. His wisdom, strength and grace is sufficient for us. We cannot do anything in our own strength well; we need Him. No matter where we go or what we are doing, God is WITH us and we need to listen to His direction. This verse definitely speaks to me, especially as we are about to embark on this adventure across the ocean, where our trust is without borders.

That's what this is: an ADVENTURE. An adventure serving God as a team united in Christ. I am so thankful for this team that God has brought together.

It's exciting and comforting to know that this is all in His timing. I tend to strive for perfection to my own standard in most areas of my life. While it's great to be driven, I think it can be unhealthy when we strive too much, trying to achieve something that is impossible in our own strength. We need to remind ourselves and refocus on WHO our source is, WHOSE we are, and our purpose behind our actions and goals. It is not about us, it's not about perfection - it's about JESUS. So we can take the pressure off of ourselves, and trust in our Father who knows what He's doing! Why worry about perfection, when God works all for good anyway?? As we are in Cambodia, or wherever in this world, we need to be flexible and content as to what could happen and be obedient to where God is leading and what He has for us.

So as we go, we can trust that God lives in us, is going before us, speaking through us, and changing hearts all in His timing and all for HIS GLORY. It is humbling that God uses broken vessels for His glory. And we are HIS vessels. We are going to share God's love and share ourselves!

"Here am I. Send me."
Isaiah 6:8 NIV

He is sending us and we are going!!!

We don't really know quite what to expect, but that is what makes it exciting. That's what makes trusting God so necessary.

"I lift my eyes to things unseen, to the promise in Your victory. I will build my life on the mystery of where You call me, and I will go to the unknown." (Unknown, Mosaic MSC)

Here we go, off to the unknown.
